Janade du Plessis is a 5-times Fund Manager, currently the co-Founder of Launch Africa Ventures (the most prominent and active Seed stage VC in Africa) and Five35 Ventures (a leading Pan-African female-focused VC fund in Africa).

Based in London, Florence is Head of Platform and Operations. Her main focuses are adding value beyond capital to our founders and increasing internal efficiency enabling Launch Africa to scale.

Terisha (“Teri”) is a Data Analyst Based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Terisha’s primary workflows include financial reporting to operational metrics to strategic portfolio information management directed at post investment support , fund exits and also plays an active role in Five35 audit engagements.

Natnael Asmerom, Investment Manager, is leading our Investor Relation efforts at Launch Africa Ventures.

Based in Dubai, Nat is the firm’s first dedicated resource in the MEA region, strategically focused on building and strengthening collaborations with key partners like PINInvest.

Michael is an Investment Manager at Launch Africa Ventures and is based across Kenya, Ghana, and Mauritius. He’s involved in capital raising & allocation, strategic partnership development, as well as portfolio management for the Fund’s 140+ ventures, spread in 20+ African countries.

Jeffery is a Portfolio Associate based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Jeffery holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree. Before joining the Launch Africa Team, he gained extensive experience in the ecosystem through his role as the Partnership Lead for the African Business Angel Network(ABAN).

Most recently Lina was the Managing Director of the Dakar Network Angels, where she facilitated Angel investing in African startups, notably around Francophone Africa. Lina comes in with 15 years of working experience in various sectors the financial industry: insurance, venture capital, development finance and consulting.

Kamohelo (“Kamo”) is a portfolio associate at Launch Africa based out of Johannesburg. Prior to joining the Launch Africa team, Kamo gained experience as a Growth Equity, Corporate finance and Impact investing professional having worked for Hlayisani Capital (Growth Equity Fund, ~R350M AUM), Valeo Capital and WIBC (Developmental fund ~R100M AUM). Prior to his investment career he founded a patented consumer electronic business.

Kartik is a Portfolio Manager at Launch Africa Ventures. His primary workflows include managing LAVFI assets, supporting portfolio founders, and generating liquidity from top assets.

Daryn is based in Cape Town, South Africa and is an Investment Associate with Launch Africa’s second fund. Prior to joining Launch, he worked in various roles in corporate finance, investment management and client service at EY and Camissa Asset Management (previously Kagiso Asset Management) and Allan Gray.

Uwem is the Head of Investments at Launch Africa Ventures. With a decade of experience and understanding of the African startup ecosystem, he is at the forefront of identifying promising ventures and providing invaluable guidance to entrepreneurs as they build their businesses.
