What They Do:

What They Do:

Areye brings everyday transport and local deliveries into one app. Customers can book a ride or send a parcel, while drivers can earn from both passenger trips and deliveries. The platform started in Botswana and is built around how people and businesses move through Southern African cities.

Through Areye Storefront, restaurants, pharmacies, hardware shops and liquor stores can sell to their local communities and use Areye’s crowdsourced delivery network to fulfil orders. Areye Business gives organisations access to the same capabilities for staff transport and company deliveries.

Why We Invested:

Why We Invested:

We see room for a transport and delivery business designed around local market conditions. Areye combines demand from commuters, merchants and businesses: drivers can serve different types of customers, while merchants can sell and arrange delivery through the same platform.

The platform has passed 10,000 app downloads, 6,000 registered users and 800 drivers, with businesses already using Storefront. Ride and delivery commissions sit alongside merchant subscriptions, giving Areye several revenue streams from the same network.

Early traction with restaurants in Waterfall City and Midrand provides a starting point for growth in South Africa. Lesotho and Eswatini are also among the company’s planned next markets, extending the reach of a business first developed in Botswana.
